Summit Run — Ladakh

A mountain drive worth stopping for.

Take an orange expedition SUV from a valley rally camp to the open square at Khardung La. Climb the stones, ease through mountain meltwater, and stop to take in the peaks.

The expedition

Summit Run is a compact, single-player off-road expedition built for the browser. Three short stages pack in rocky climbs, narrow shelves, flowing water and an icy final approach. Choosing a good line matters more than outright speed.

The route opens onto mountain valleys, a turquoise lake and a stepped white-and-red hilltop monastery. Checkpoint panoramas make a slow full circle before returning you to the wheel. At Khardung La, the drive ends and the camera keeps circling your car while you save a souvenir photo or start again.

Along the way

  • Switch between rear-wheel 2WD and 4WD with different climbing traction.
  • Crawl over low slabs with visible tire and suspension movement; steer around the larger boulders.
  • Follow snowmelt streams down from the hills, through river crossings and into the valley.
  • Watch for long braking distances on the ice pass.
  • Park at marked lookouts, move the mouse and enjoy the view.
  • Hear natural-sounding team-radio advice for rocks, cliffs, water and ice, over a softened V8, gravel crunch and quiet music.
  • Finish with your time, distance, climb, top speed and recovery count, and download a summit photo.

Click the game to focus it. The starting card explains the controls. Engage 4WD for the rock climbs and water, brake before the ice, and watch the [P] indicator if the car will not move. Cross the marked gates in order; the finish is marker 11 in the middle of the summit plaza. Markers 5 and 7 are intentionally absent from this route.

On mobile: rotate to landscape. Use the thumb joystick to drive and steer; pull it back to brake or reverse. Tap the separate 2WD/4WD button to change traction and P to toggle the handbrake. Drag the scenery to look around, tap CAM to return, and use SKIP during panoramas. Touch controls appear automatically on phones and tablets.

Credits

Made for Vapour with Godot. Original stylized vehicle and environment geometry, inspired by Ladakh's mountain roads and monasteries. Engine and gravel textures are adapted from the supplied recordings; music and water textures are generated for this game. Team-radio dialogue uses pre-rendered synthetic speech.

This is a compact, artistically authored mountain expedition rather than a geographic simulation.
